A cootie catcher that teaches you a language while you play.
Pick a number and count to it — you're learning numbers. Pick a color and spell it out letter by letter — you're learning colors and the alphabet. Lift the flap and read the body part, then point to it — you're learning the body. Three powerful vocabulary lessons hidden in a toy.
Print this page — all words on one side
Page 2 — Back (optional: print double-sided or leave blank)
How to assemble
Printing
Print this single page. You don't need to print double-sided — it works with the words on just one side.
If your printer supports double-sided, page 2 adds fold guides and bonus designs to the back.
Folding
Cut out the square along the solid border.
Place the side with the black center dot facing up.
Fold all four corners to the center point (where the dashed lines meet). The numbers should now be hidden inside the folds.
Flip the paper over.
Fold all four corners to the center again.
Fold the square in half (either direction), then unfold and fold the other way.
Pinch the four flaps and push your fingers inside to form the cootie catcher shape. The numbers should be on the outside.
How to play
Ask a friend to pick a number from the outside.
Open and close the fortune teller that many times, spelling the number word aloud or counting from 0 or 1 to the number in the language.
Ask them to pick a color from the inside.
Spell out the color word, opening and closing with each letter. Use the letter names in that language!
Ask them to pick another color, then lift the flap to reveal a body part.
